USA Today Poll has Newt Gingrich on 9%

In the latest poll by USA Today, Newt Gingrich is the preferred Republican nominee by a respectable 9% of those surveyed. He is behind Rudy Giuliani on 40% and John McCain on 24%.

However, he is ahead of Mitt Romney who made his formal announcement on Tuesday. Romney is on 5%.

Newt Gingrich has not yet decided if he will run for the nomination.

The poll was conducted between 9 and 11 February and has a margin of error of approximately 3%.

Murdoch Wants Gingrich to Run

Chairman of News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch has said that Newt Gingrich should run for President and has said that his style of clean and efficient government would be good for America. He also said that Gingrich would make the primary race a lot more serious.

Rupert Murdoch made the comments in an interview recently with Business Week Editor, Steve Adler. In the same interview, Murdoch said that although Hillary Clinton was very intelligent, she was also calculating and divisive.

Murdoch also said that New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg should consider running for President.
